The VITA 90 (often referred to as VNX+) standard defines a new modular, rugged small-form-factor architecture for high-performance embedded systems where SWaP constraints dominate. VITA At roughly 30 % the size of a 3U OpenVPX module, VNX+ enables advanced processors, GPUs, FPGAs and high-speed I/O to be deployed in compact airborne, ground-vehicle, unmanned and wearable systems. Military Embedded Systems
Elma’s VNX+ capability covers the full lifecycle — architecture, packaging, manufacturing, system integration and test-qualification — so you can adopt VNX+ with confidence and accelerate time to mission.
Architecture & Packaging
Elma’s engineering supports VNX+ from reference backplanes through full enclosure systems. We provide chassis, backplanes and modules designed to meet VITA 90 slot profiles (for example 400-pin and 320-pin payloads) and optimized cooling and ruggedization for harsh environments. VITA
System Integration
Our team partners with customers to integrate VNX+ modules into full subsystems — including power, thermal, I/O mapping, front-panel services and chassis management. Whether it’s unmanned ground vehicles, airborne sensor pods or compact wearable C4ISR nodes, Elma bridges from module to system.
Test & Qualification
Elma’s development platforms (for example our 3-slot FlexVNX+ test chassis) enable rapid bring-up of VNX+ plug-in cards and full system validation in lab and mission-profile conditions. Elma Our manufacturing and test facilities support AS9100/ISO9001 and defense-qualified workflows — giving you a trusted partner from prototype through production.
Manufacturing & Supply Chain
In-house manufacturing combined with global supply-chain oversight ensures Elma can deliver rugged VNX+ subsystems at scale and on schedule. Our packaging and ruggedizing expertise ensures modules survive the demands of military and aerospace deployments.
