Avionics Instrument Sensors development and testing for Joint Strike Fighter Program. System flight tested aboard a BAC111 (similar to a BOEING 707).

Solution

Elma’s 12R2 system with a full 20-slot primary card cage and a 3-slot secondary card cage above. Dual VME64X backplanes and custom I/O panel.

Why Did Elma Win?

A proven baseline design for Rugged COTS, a long-standing relationship with the customer and Elma's ability to provide necessary modifications combined to secure this win. Northrop Grumman wanted a robust design that would withstand the environmental rigors of actual flight-, flight line- and hangar-based qualification testing.
