Purpose /Objective of Position
- Ensuring the continuous supply to Elma with high quality materials and services to achieve its overall strategy
- Management and functional leadership of the purchasing team
- Deliver continuous improvement and further development of the purchasing team
- Ensure optimisation of the Procurement function within a multi-country and multicultural environment.
Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Effectively manage the purchasing team in the UK and Germany covering the entire people management remit.
- Design, develop, and implement a Purchasing shared service center in Romania
- Define KPIs for team and implement visual management cadence with team
Supply Management:
- Develop critical suppliers to support business demand and reduce risk to supply
- Maintain supplier scorecards and supplier relationships through visits and collaboration.
- Conduct supplier Audits in collaboration with Quality to ensure a robust supply chain.
- Manage new and existing Elma suppliers to source high quality parts, delivered on time within target pricing
- Drive supplier collaboration to reduce lead times, economies of scale pricing terms, with superior quality.
- Maintain the Elma approved supplier list.
- Mange along with Quality any material non-conformances with suppliers
Pricing:
- Manage Pricing Agreements and Service Level Agreements/ supplier contracts
- Review quotes and costing materials from suppliers to ensure best price.
- Negotiate pricing and lead time and favorable payment terms to meet purchasing targets and maximize business cash flow.
Purchasing /Procurement:
- For new orders review the Bills of Materials, working with the engineering team to resolve any issues
- Responsible for procurement processes and adherence to company standards.
- Carry out purchasing activities created by Engineering changes
- Support the Production team with any material related questions.
To undertake other reasonable duties directed by the Managing Director in accordance with the Elma business plan/objectives

Required Qualifications/Experience to demonstrate competence in role:
- CIPS qualification Level 5/6 or equivalent
- +5 Years’ experience and experience in a manufacturing environment and experience in technical supply chain /purchasing
- Experience of using MRP reporting to accurately schedule orders to meet delivery requirements and quantities.
- Exposure to strategic procurement within a manufacturing B2B company in the field of production and assembly of components and assemblies.
- Understanding of plastic injection molding, stamping, sheet metal, processing and /or CNC machining of materials and /or plastics
- At least 3 years of experience in people management, including the alignment, development and organizational development of teams and employees
- Proactive, communicative personality with a structured and interconnected way of thinking as well as a strong entrepreneurial mindset and behavior
