Elma UK, the UK subsidiary for the Elma Group, specialises primarily in the design, manufacture and integration of electronic packaging and processing systems used in a wide range of applications from Industrial Control through to Radar processing and Air-Traffic Management spanning Aerospace & Defence, Industrial Automation, Communications and Transportation. Also from the company’s 30,000 sq ft facility in Bedford, thousands of standard catalogue components produced at Elma factories around the world are distributed to UK based customers.

Level 1 Prototype Wireman/Woman

We are looking for new team members who can assemble and wire electrical panels, chassis for commercial, Aerospace and Military applications for both new products and repeat orders we have made in the past. Applicants will have the ability

  • To read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • To wire both new and repeat chassis enclosures for commercial, aerospace, and Military applications
  • Wire different connector types including soldering
  • Knowledge of tools and instruments of the wiring trade
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Required: 4 years’ experience of prototype wiring. Apprenticeship NVQ level 2 or above
  • Desirable: IPC620 Certificated

Level 2 Wireman/Woman

We also have opportunities for new team members who can assemble and wire electrical panels, chassis for commercial, Aerospace and Military applications for repeat orders that we have completed in the past

  • To read and understand wiring diagrams and wiring lists
  • To wire repeat chassis enclosures for commercial, aerospace, and Military applications
  • Wire common connector types including soldering
  • Knowledge of tools and instruments of the wiring trade
  • Ability to work with some supervision
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Required: 3 years’ experience of wiring
  • Desirable: IPC620 Certificated

You will need to be focussed on quality and have the capability to follow detailed work instructions which include 3D models, written build instructions, wiring lists and drawings. You will need to keep accurate records of your work. Above all, we need people with a good attitude that we can train and develop their skills and knowledge.
