Highlights
• SOSA VNX+ Presentation 8/13 @ 4:00 pm; MOSA Technical Sessions, Legacy Ballroom
• Several deployable system platform solutions on display at Booth #337
• GVSETS 2024: Digitizing the Army to Enable Formations Today and Tomorrow

FREMONT, Calif., August 2024 – At GVSETS 2024 this month, Elma Electronic (Booth #337) is set to present during the MOSA Technical Sessions as well as showcase leading deployable rugged platforms designed for ground vehicles and land operations.

On Tuesday, August 13th at 4 pm in the Legacy Ballroom, Mark Littlefield, Elma’s Director System Products, will present “SOSA VNX+: Small Form Factor for Ground Vehicle Applications”.

Littlefield will examine how the Technical Standard for SOSA Reference Architecture, Edition 2.0, Version 2 expanded its coverage of VNX+ to facilitate the development of SOSA aligned plug-in modules and backplanes using this new form factor. VNX+ is an emerging VITA small form factor computing standard designed to serve severely SWaP-constrained high-performance sensor processing applications.

At Booth #337, Elma will have a combination of its SOSA aligned and AI-based rugged, deployable system solutions that facilitate military ground vehicle technology applications:

• Elma’s new SOSA aligned CMOSS Modular Form Factor (CMFF) field-deployable chassis, with a tray compliant with the Standard A-Kit Envelope (SAVE), includes a 7 slot 3U VPX backplane, chassis manager, and VITA 62 plug-in power supply

• Specifically designed for deployable applications requiring alignment with the SOSA Technical Standard, the ATR-3600S is a six-slot, rugged, short 1/2 ATR chassis that accepts 3U plug-in cards (PICs) as well as a VITA 62 power supply

• The NVIDIA-based JetSys-5330 is a rugged AI platform that delivers up to 275 TOPS and is coupled with numerous expansion sites for custom I/O and storage requirements, making it an ideal platform for rugged, deployed deep learning applications at the edge

Ken Grob, Director of Embedded Technologies at Elma, noted “GVSETS is designed to address the capability gaps that are growing in scope and complexity for current and future military conflicts. By having Mark explore the developing VNX+ architecture in his presentation as well as offering several deployable system platforms at Elma’s booth, we’re sharing knowledge and resources that will ultimately help the warfighter.”

In its 16th year, the Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering & Technology Symposium (GVSETS) & Modernization Update brings together scientists and engineers from government, academia and industry to focus on technical areas that can support future formations and the digitization of the current and future Army to enhance warfighter capabilities.
