Elma Electronic Inc. is the recognized leader in high quality component and systems manufacturing.  We are a global company that designs and manufactures solutions for electronic packaging.  We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our team in our Fremont, CA location. This person will report to the Quality Manager.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage Quality Inspectors and assure Quality of the product in all stages of the processes. Ensure compliance with customer, drawing, internal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible of keep calibrated the measurement devices of the company and maintain updated the calibration database.
  • Support the development, verification and manufacture of products using Quality Planning, Continuous Improvement and Statistical Process Control techniques
  • Support continued ISO/AS9100 certification
  • Perform and Review First Article Inspections per AS9100
  • Support Operations to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and contribute to an atmosphere of continuous improvement through the realization of cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Determine the root causes and system failures of quality incidents with associated corrective & preventative action and train others on disciplined problem-solving tools
  • Serves as a member of the Material Review Board. Drives the disposition and subsequent processing of suspect material in a timely manner to support schedule and minimize the inventory of discrepant product.
  • Responsible for participating in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
  • Employs mistake-proofing techniques
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data
  • Interface with customer as needed
  • Other various duties as assigned



  • BS in related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in related field, preferably in the electronics industry
  • IPC-A-610 specialist or trainer certification
  • J-STD -001 certification
  • Experience on ISO 9001, AS9100
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook experience
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and utilize blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Familiar with various measuring devices (Height gage, calipers, Multimeter, etc.)
  • Ability to pay attention to small details, analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Previous experience in Mechanical and Production Engineering
  • Previous experience in a Production Engineering environment and in a Quality/Inspection role
  • Knowledge of statistics data
  • Ability to show practical use of measuring equipment and measuring techniques
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Flexible and trustworthy
