Elma Electronic Inc. is a global company that designs and manufactures solutions for electronic packaging.  We have an excellent opportunity for you to become a part of our success. We have an immediate opening for a Human Resources Director in either our Fremont, CA or Lawrenceville, GA location.

The Human Resources Director will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and administering Elma’s Human Resources programs, policies and initiatives so that they align with the overall business objectives. This person will report to the Elma President.  

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and manage HR programs and policies including compensation and benefit administration, performance management, employee relations, employment and safety and health, organizational development and training
  • Support strategic objectives
  • Resolve employee issues in a fair, consistent and legal manner
  • Develop procedures and oversee the annual review process
  • Prepare offer letters, hire workforce and develop onboarding procedures
  • Motivate, support and supervise current staff
  • Support employee development and develop initiatives to enhance job satisfaction
  • Design and direct training programs
  • Assist managers in developing job descriptions
  • Ensure government compliance on the Federal/State and Local level
  • Respond to inquiries/audits from governmental agencies
  • Assist employees and managers in their interpretation of company policies
  • Responsible for Workers Compensation, EEO and Affirmative Action reporting and recordkeeping
  • Manage benefit programs including annual open enrollment to minimize cost and optimize options for employees
  • Assist senior managers with HR issues related to acquisitions, succession planning, retention etc.
  • Facilitate Immigration processing
  • Recruit, identify staffing needs and staff efficiently and cost effectively
  • Plan company functions and events and manage wellness initiatives
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • BS or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years directly related experience.  
  • HRIS experience preferred. 
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Human Resources processes, procedures and practices. 
  • Must be current in changing labor laws and mandates and industry practices and standards.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion on HR issues
  • Strong decision making and problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communications skills required, verbal, written and listening
  • Innovative in developing solutions to problems
  • Customer-service oriented with strong people skills
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of accuracy
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Budget management experience
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement
  • Thorough understanding of HR policies, practices and processes.  Must know state/federal laws pertaining to HR.  Be current on new and changing laws
  • Computer literate
