Associate Engineer Cable Harness

The Associate Engineer, Cable Harness is responsible for preparing documentation for a wide variety of cable and harness assemblies.  

Responsibilities
  • Defines bill of materials per sample cable assemblies
  • Create net list (Wire List) from samples
  • Provide accurate cost estimates for sales department
  • Work with vendors and customers to select connectors and cables to meet order specifications
  • Communicate effectively with sales, engineering, manufacturing staff and customers
  • Assist and guide manufacturing in improving the productivity of the harness line
  • Other engineering projects as assigned
 
Requirements
  • College graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
  • PC literate with experience in Creo Elements/Direct 2D, AutoCAD (2D), MS Office, and database programs
  • Basic knowledge of cable and harness components, connectors, contacts, lugs, wires and cables, plus crimping tools, automatic, semi-automatic and hand tools
  • Proven record of continuous improvement
  • Thorough understanding of IPC standards, knowledgeable of ISO 9000 and ESD and Safety practices
  • Familiar with IPC/WHMA-620A standards
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment plus exceptional attention to detail and quality
