Why did Elma win? Superior solution. Competitors Hybricon & CG Mupac presented their "tower" solution to the customer, both quoting prices in the $2500 range. Customer evaluated all vendors for quality of construction, quality of components used in manufacture, airflow, fit & finish of the product, overall design, and response to technical inquiries. Customer stated that our product was the only one that appeared to be designed from the ground-up as a portable unit, where the other units were flangeless boxes with luggage handles attached to the top. Additionally, Elma was the only supplier to provide a show & tell sample that closely resembled the final configuration requirement.
Other Info:Product is also being used by all other software developers on the JTRS program (Boeing, Northrop Grumman, & Rockwell Collins); Elma is sole-source for this item.
